Empowering Women Through Education, Awareness, Health, and Leadership Initiatives – JMJ Social Service Society, Vijayapura,Karnataka,India
The women-centered programmes conducted by JMJ Social Service Society, Vijayapura, Bangalore Province during 2026 focused on empowerment, education, health awareness, leadership development, and social justice for marginalized women and girls. Special attention was given to Devadasi women, adolescent girls, mothers, and vulnerable communities.
Awareness programmes inspired by the life and mission of Savitribai Phule emphasized the importance of education, gender equality, and social justice. Sessions encouraged parents to educate girls and highlighted the harmful effects of child marriage. House visits to Devadasi women provided emotional support, guidance, and awareness on women’s rights, welfare schemes, dignity, and social inclusion, helping them gain confidence and self-respect.
Legal awareness programmes educated women about laws related to equality, safety, and protection against violence and discrimination. Discussions on democracy and land ownership encouraged women’s participation in civic and social life.
Health awareness activities focused on HIV prevention, nutrition, hygiene, maternal health, and preventive healthcare. Medical camps and health consultations promoted healthy lifestyles among women and families.
International Women’s Day celebrations, personality development sessions, and leadership training programmes strengthened women’s confidence, communication skills, and leadership qualities, enabling them to become active contributors and leaders within their families and communities.
